Prague City Tourism‘s 2013 Annual Report provides information about the events and devel-opments of the past year, describes individual activities, details its most recent accounting results, and sets out its goals, philosophies and key marketing themes.
Pražská informační služba – Prague City Tourism is an organization founded by the Prague City Hall. Its primary function is to support domestic and international tourism in the capital city. The organization was established on January 1, 1958.
Through its tourist information centers, Prague City Tourism provides comprehensive infor-mation about tourism in Prague, arranges services for existing and potential visitors to the capital, organizes educational programs for the professional and lay public, trains profes-sional Prague tour guides, and is responsible for the operation of the Old Town Hall.
Its fundamental purpose, however, is the promotion and marketing of Prague to develop do-mestic and international tourism both within the Czech Republic and abroad. Currently Pra-gue City Tourism is undergoing a rebirth into a marketing organization, moving away from its original concept focused on an encyclopedic knowledge of the city towards becoming an ac-tive tourism manager and modern service organization.
